Symbolism of Ganesh Statue's Hand Gesture

This bronze statue show Ganesh sitting peacefully in a relaxed posture with one leg folded flat at a lotus throne and the other resting on its knee on the throne. It symbolises the state of calm and preparedness. 

The right hand is raised in the Abhaya Mudra (hand gesture) of Ganesh with his palm facing outward which signifies protection and courage.
